Re: Wagner Group
Recruiting rapists and murderers to join the war is a win in every category for russia. They don't care how their military is presented. Whether the prisons stay and fight or flee it's a solution for Russia and a problem for Ukraine. While it reeks of desperation there isn't much of a downside in that strategy.

Re: Wagner Group
I knew several guys who were given the option of signing up for the Marines, with dismissal of all charges, or going to jail. They took that Marine option, and they all seemed like great guys, so I guess it made a difference. The Learjet Co in Tucson was a pretty wild place to work. High intensity, but also a lot of wild stuff going on. We had an old van we used to transport tools and equipment around the plant in Tucson. It covered over 100 acres, and anywhere you went was a long drive. Once there was a bunch of company vice-presidents walking around in a group, and when the van drove by this flock of company VIP's, one of the afore-mentioned individuals mooned the group as the van slowly drove past them. (Max speed limit was 15 mph anywhere on the plant property) The only response from the group was one of the VP's yelled out: "You're not fooling us! We know that's YOU, Rich XXXXX!". Nothing more was ever said about it, and he told us they never mentioned it again when they talked to him around the plant. So that was the kind of thing that didn't even matter. (As long as the airplanes were successfully moving out the door.) But these VP's were all hands-on guys, and were quite approachable, as EVERYONE who worked there really busted their asses, including the execs, who had a lot of things they had to take care of. So it's not like they were just office guys who never even went on the floor. They actually were down on the production and hangar floors, wrestling with the airplanes, the same as us. But those types of execs had all retired by the time I left, and were replaced by penises with feet. (One of our good customers from Mexico referred to one of the new VP's in Spanish as a "Two Legged Rat" and I didn't understand it until a co-worker laughed and translated it for me.) |

Re: Wagner Group
This is awesome. If a person made a mistake and his life is on the verge of downfall and he seems to be lost in his life, make him and his family proud, make him a marine. Maybe he never wanted to, but between the jail and marine corp answer is clear I think. Thanks for sharing

Speaking of Wagner. They've been hacked, it seems. https://twitter.com/iaponomarenko/st...KXhhOoFeUthREQ
