Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread IV

How much did it pay btw and did your country of residence arrange for it?

Around march I prank-contacted my own government

It went something like this (paraphrased)

I then began quoting some Der Spiegel articles saying how there are nazis and whatever in Ukraine and how they were marching in support of the Holocaust more or less, and explaining how my family is Jewish and the woman became really desperate saying Ukraine if our friend and she thought I was going to help Ukraine and that the newspapers are often wrong and so forth
Your such a demented entity to push the shit that you do Faust !

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread IV

Well, I guess RaNer has told us, man. Time to fold up the tents, tuck our tails between our legs, and admit that the collective we here at DR have absolutely no idea what is really happening in Ukraine - but he does. Every single thing that has happened to him personally in-theater must be taken at face value, and his experiences must be extrapolated to include the entirety of what is happening to military personnel and units on both sides of the conflict.

Fausting, Whaleload, and El Jubo's Drag Race are poseurs and pretenders to the throne of mis-information and mis-direction. All hail the new king! All-seeing, all-knowing, sage, soothsayer, prognosticator, the George Santos of the Ukrainian Conflict, RaNer!

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread IV

Well, I anticipated that kind of reaction. I cannot comment on it because it's impossible to comment to things that makes no sense (I know where I was and what I did same as you know you've eaten apple yesterday).

If we are going to discuss, my personal opinion is that no matter how harsh truth is - you will in the end stoop to lowest of expressions that are not even argument.

What else you can say except that this is Russian propaganda with my "twist" even though it was obvious I was on the other side, and that I told numerous times I don't participate in shallow suburbian "my team vs your team" thing. I just don't go off on that. I couldn't care less who will win same as I don't care about will Nets win vs Bulls. But if I was at the game, and that game is important to the others I feel like sharing.

Then again, you must be a bit devious thinking I would lie about such things. Let alone it would be stupid as fuck. But it's Internet, and what can I do about it. Who knows me on this forum knows I don't hide shit, where I live, what's my name, pics etc. if they do remember it was long time ago.
Your English isn't to good is it, ruskie bot

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread IV

OK and now this is going to be my last post about that experience. I know I would be first with AMA questions but really in all honesty it's not all that dramatic as someone would think.

What is dramatic though the sheer western propaganda. And I'm not talking this because "I'm pro-Russian" but because newspapers on west can literally write one thing and then the next day the opposite.

Far from that Russians do not lie here and there but when I've came back I felt even more bad knowing people think one thing and I'm there, witnessing totally different stuff. Not only me, a lot of people.

During scouting phases we would often see Russian leftovers (they would do the same when we would leave designated position). We were smoking some weird Korean ciggaretes I don't know even their name and Russians would left packs of Marlboro. Then we would find their newspapers "Izvjestija" or something like that.

I had luck because my mother language is highly slavic so and both Ukrainians and Russians speak the same language. Anyways, Russian newspapers actually ... talk about their victims, they are self-critical, also they critique Putin but also point his good sides. I was surprised they let their soldiers to read something like that cause west told me Russians are savages and manipulators.

What was and probably still is pain in the ass is the fact ordinary Ukraine soldier knows that even if he wins - his country is destroyed, in debt and he's changed.

Also, what mostly brought me back, except that I earned what I wanted and experienced enough - is the fact I felt their hatred towards Russia is stronger then love for Ukraine. I was fed up listening to stories about nazism and extreme devious, almost ludacris ideas. Instead of preparing a plan and doing day by day, they wait for something miraculously to come and turn the tide of the war. I guess I was started to be irritated by sheer of utopist ideas that I felt unsafe. I mean it's war - you are always "unsafe" but still I want someone who thinks about his aim not about battle of Kursk.

I even think my mom's "Oh you are back, I knew, we know you are winning" instantly de-shellshocked me cause I've seen how delirious and oblivious are people. No, Ukraine is not winning, no they are not advancing, yes Russians are bringing reinforcements and yeah of course China and Belarusia supports them. It's a known fact as UK - US - EU relations.

One of fucked up things that I've seen is this drone stuff cause some prick can kill you from his office in joystick in his hand. That's not way to die and that also went trough my head. Also you don't hear them but you hear something falling without sound of actual shelling and it's creepy cause bombs bounce all around.

Russians rarely did that, they hit the industrial things, economy, but I've seen where Ukraine deploy that method and it really sucks. I would be so pissed off to die like that.

But then again, once I was near probably getting hit to a point that could lead to death but I WAS STILL not satisfied cause it was shrapnel.

Again man, you come here with no proof. I highly doubt that you fought yourself out of a paper bag let alone Ukraine. I would try and maybe work on your story to make it more believable. Use ChatGPT to generate your story for you.

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread IV

This is how easy it is to use ChatGPT to make up a story about fighting for Ukraine then leaving:

Hello everyone, I want to share with you my story of how I left my country, Ukraine, during a war with Russia.

I used to be a proud soldier in the Ukraine army, fighting for what I thought was a just and necessary cause. But as the conflict with Russia dragged on, I began to feel disillusioned with the way things were going.

One day, during a fierce Russia assault, it became clear to me that my government had lied to me and my fellow soldiers. They had promised us that the war was just and necessary, and that the enemy was evil and must be defeated. But as I watched my friends and colleagues fall around me, I knew that this was not the truth.

As the Russia forces overwhelmed our position, and my unit began to retreat, I made a decision. I would not continue to fight for a cause that I no longer believed in. So I left my country behind and crossed into the neighboring country of Belarus, hoping to find safety and a new life.

As I traveled through the unfamiliar landscape, I reflected on the events that had brought me to this point. I had once been a loyal soldier, willing to lay down my life for my country. But as the reality of the conflict had become clearer, I had realized that my government's lies had led to the needless deaths of countless soldiers and civilians.

Now, looking back at Ukraine, I know that I will never be able to return. But I also know that I made the right decision. I left behind a life of violence and deceit, and I am seeking a new path that aligns with my own values of peace and justice.

Though the journey ahead will be difficult, I feel a sense of liberation as I look toward the future, free from the chains of war and deception.
