Who knows what Ukraine was attempting to target. Perhaps there are military installations in Berdyansk? RU acknowledged that they shot down the missiles which caused the resulting damage. Whether you support Ukraine or Russia, we simply don't have enough inside information to get a truly accurate picture.

That may be true, although that would be a double-edged sword. Russia is claiming that they are intercepting Ukranian missiles, and the resulting debris is causing damage to civilian infrastructure. If Russia isn't shooting them down, and they are in fact the intended targets, then Ukraine would be intentionally targeting civilian infrastructure/ civilians.

I'm a staunch Ukraine supporter in this conflict, but I don't know which of the two alternatives is correct. Perhaps a combinations of the two? We just don't have enough information as (very) outside observers.

Found further information about this incident:
"Several SU-34 fighter-bombers were damaged in Kursk, Russia, and a Pantsir-1S air defense missile system was destroyed. Unknown strikes were carried out on June 2, 2023 at the "Skhidny" airfield."
