Re: Russia/Ukraine War Mobilization, Protests & Sabotage Media III
[QUOTE=scorpion9;7951458]Yup, but, sadly, USA takes this to just as extreme lengths, especially the conservative media propaganda. Just take a look at this compilation :D, its kind of scary when you think about it. This isnt just 1 exception. I've seen other, even worse compilations where 10-20 "different" news reporters all preatch the same script, either against the global warming, green energy, pro-fossil fuel industry, etc etc. Mega corporations have billion dollar budgets for media manipulation, and thats how it manisfests itself. Same thing happens on social media and in blogs. Some fossil fuel tycoon pushes a billion dollars into marketing campaing and voila, you have facebook experts screaming the same campaign lines against green energy ad nauseum. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yes, They do like to craft their ideals & push it onto others without thought or care as in the end it's all about money & power, rather than truth & justice. |

Re: Russia/Ukraine War Mobilization, Protests & Sabotage Media III
These reports starting coming in about 20:00 ET | 24:00 UTC last night. Russian sources were the first to report it and there was NO mention of the cause. There are reports that Russia is responsible and other sources are saying it was the Ukrainians. I don't know who is responsible at this moment but you coming in here quoting the Geneva conventions implying automatically it was Ukraine's doing is typical. ==== Anyway, here is the information I have found. All the same media but included several different source quotes. There is a shit ton of info coming out so there will be another post after this. This post is all the initial information I found. UA Source 1: "The occupiers blew up the Kakhovskaya HPP. Residents of the left bank of the Dnieper should evacuate as soon as possible. As a result of undermining the dam, there is an increase in the water level downstream. Water can reach a critical level in 6 hours" UA Source 2: "The occupiers blew up the Kakhovskaya HPP. The evacuation of the population of Kherson Oblast from possible flooding routes has begun. According to Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of Kherson OVA, the water will reach a critical level approximately at 12 o'clock on June 6." UA Source 3: "The occupiers blew up the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, the OK "Pivden". • An uncontrolled discharge of water began from the reservoir. This threatens large-scale flooding of the Kherson region. • In 5 hours the water will reach the maximum level. Evacuation of the population began from the right-bank part of the region (controlled by Ukraine), OVA. • Crimea may remain without water supply for years." Neutral but leans pro-Russian Source 4: This night, the Ukrainian military attacked the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station in the Kherson region. As a result, the dam was destroyed. Theoretically, this will allow the Armed Forces of Ukraine to flood the forward lines of defense of the Russians, which will facilitate the offensive." UA Source 5: "The water in the Kakhovka reservoir is dropping rapidly, about 15 cm per hour, - the head of the Nikopol RVA. There is also a high risk that the Zaporozhye NPP may be left without cooling." UA Source 6: "In the event of a decrease in the water level of the Kakhovsky Reservoir, the functioning of the cooling infrastructure of the Zaporizhzhya NPP reactors will be disrupted. This could threaten a nuclear catastrophe. Undermining the dam or destroying the locks will flood 80 settlements downstream, hundreds of thousands of people will be affected. This will exclude the possibility of functioning of the North Crimean Canal. The devastating ecological, humanitarian, man-made consequences of this single Russian terrorist attack may become such that it will be called a historical disaster." This is no longer a problem of Ukraine. This is a human problem and solutions must be immediate. Both in the elimination of terrorists from the Russian Federation and in helping to stop what is happening now." UA Source 7: "The greatest danger is currently for the villages of Mykolaivka, Olhivka, Lyovo, Tyaginka, Ponyativka, Ivanivka, Tokarivka, Prydniprovske, Sadove, and partially the city of Kherson - Korabel Island, " RU Source 8: "The upper part of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station was destroyed by an enemy strike, but the dam itself was not destroyed. The water level after the destruction of the station rose 2.5 meters downstream , all services are in place, said the Mayor of Nova Kakhovka Leontiev." UA Source 9: "Now the station cooling pond is full: as of 8:00 a.m., the water level is 16.6 meters, which is enough for the needs of the station." 1-2. "They write that Russian mines are detonating on the banks of the Dnieper near the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station." 3. "There are other hydroelectric power stations on the Dnieper that need to be sorted out - a military man from the Russian Federation admits that the undermining of the Kakhovka dam is the work of the Russians." 4. "The water level begins to fall in the Dnieper in Zaporozhye! The water has already receded by 10 meters" #khpp #warcrime #kherson #znpp #zaporizhzhia

Re: Russia/Ukraine War Mobilization, Protests & Sabotage Media III
Imo, its obvious that the dam was blown up by the Russians. They controled it. They can only benefit from blowing it up, where as Ukraine can only lose by blowing it up. This is a huge monkeywrench thrown into the Ukraine counter offensive and i bet they will now scramble to re-design their offensive strategies. |

Re: Russia/Ukraine War Mobilization, Protests & Sabotage Media III
More KHPP media. "The mayor of Nova Kakhovka, Volodymyr Kovalenko, said in a commentary that the city was flooding as a result of the occupiers' undermining of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant dam. The mayor has information as of 6:30 am. According to him, at that time, the zoo "Fairy Tale Grove" and the summer theater were already flooded, water came up to the monument to Shevchenko, cafes and a playground in the city were flooded. A boat station and a yacht club were also flooded, and water came up to Dniprovsky Avenue. According to Kovalenko, it is currently difficult to get information from the city because there are interruptions in the Internet. He believes that it was the Russians who started jamming the signal to keep people in an information vacuum." "On August 18, 1941, the Russians used 20 tons of explosives to blow up the Dnipro Hydroelectric Station dam, trying to hinder a German offensive. The flooding killed between 20 000 - 100 000 Ukrainians. They just did it again with the Kakhovka dam. Thousands risk drowning today" 1. "The last time the threat of blowing up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant was discussed was during the Ukrainian Armed Forces counteroffensive on the right bank of the Kherson region, when the head of the DIU Budanov said that blowing up the dam would make it impossible for the North Crimean Canal and Zaporizhzhia NPP to operate. He claimed that the Russians would lose more than they would gain from the explosion, as the left bank of the Kherson region would be completely flooded. President Zelensky warned Moscow: "any attempt by you to blow up the Kakhovka HPP and flood our territory and dehydrate the Zaporizhzhia NPP will mean that you are declaring war on the whole world." ISW analysts reported at the time that the Russians could blow up the hydroelectric power plant "under a false flag" to justify or cover their retreat in Kherson region." 2. "In Nova Kakhovka, water has already reached the city hall in the city center." 3. "Kakhovka HPP is almost completely under water" 4-5. "Islands near Kherson, the water level is already at the level of the roofs" 6. "The center of Nova Kakhovka is under water" 7. "The first satellite images of the destroyed Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant have been released. The photo was taken by a Planet Labs satellite. It shows that the entire structure of the hydroelectric power plant is destroyed." #khpp #warcrime #kherson #znpp #zaporizhzhia
