I had the same idea...that they may try to push for the opening of Nord Stream 2 and also get rid of supply contracts. You cant sit on the "we have no turbine" excuse for much longer.

I think it would be quite easy for Russia to blow the pipes from the inside, using a pipe crawler.
I was hoping to see if there is any evidence of an "inside out" explosion but it's hard to say.


It would also be interesting to see if there are explosives on the 1 remaining pipe that failed to detonate. If the west blew up the pipes, then I would expect them to blow up all the pipes, so Russia would have no leverage over Europe anymore.

I said the the first day, at first I thought Russia did it, to play “ we can’t provide you with the gas because west did it” when in reality they did not want to send gas until sanctions are removed. Even that it was done in Sweden territorial waters and with US activity near the explosion site some days before. Russia can afford this maneuver, considering they are making more now by sending gas/oil to other regions.
