Israeli Merkava Mk. 4 seen on the streets of Sderot. I can see it has a TROPHY active protection system installed - front and rear AESA radar emitters, launcher, autoloader & crew shield clearly visible. Designed to defeat primarily ATGM's, RPG's and HEAT rounds.

They probably got totally surprised. If you watch the pic of this burning tank: The protection cap on the gun barrel wasn't even removed. Or they set everything up and just burned down a crewless, parked tank for good twitter footage. Who knows. The cap on the gun barrel is suspicious. |
