Coast Guard Rescues 9 and Dog Near Chimney Rock After Helene
A Coast Guard Air Station Savannah MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew conducted search and rescue operations near Chimney Rock, North Carolina, on Sept. 29, 2024, after Hurricane Helene. The crew rescued nine people and a dog after severe flooding, rising floodwaters, and damage left people needing help.
