Coast Guard Rescues 2 from Sinking Vessel in Pamlico Sound
The Coast Guard rescued two people Thursday, Nov. 17, 2022, after they jumped from a sinking commercial fishing vessel about five miles from Engelhard, North Carolina, in Pamlico Sound. Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector North Carolina were notified at about 2 a.m. by the 35-foot fishing vessel Heathers Breeze that it was taking on water.
