I live near the crash site. People have definitely moved on already, as Walter white says when something like this happens.
Lol, this is actually pretty funny, but it's true. People just move on over time.

The NTSB attributed errors to the helicopter crew collectively, including Lobach as the pilot flying, but emphasized that the incident resulted from systemic failures by the FAA, ATC, and Army route planning rather than any single individual's actions.

In December 2025, the U.S. government admitted partial liability for FAA and Army negligence in a civil lawsuit.

Re: WASHINGTON D.C. | Commercial Jet vs Military Helicopter Over Potomac

A newly released video in better quality has captured the moment the American Airlines passenger jet collided mid-air with a US Army Black Hawk helicopter near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport on January 29, 2025, killing all 67 people on board the two aircraft.

The footage shows the aircraft coming together before a fireball erupts, followed by plumes of smoke as both crash into the Potomac River.

The jet, operating as Flight 5342 from Wichita, Kansas, was approaching the airport when the collision occurred.

Officials said the Black Hawk was on a routine training mission in restricted airspace.

All 64 people on the plane and three military personnel on the helicopter were killed.
