Wonder why they were driving out on the active runway? NO ONE is ever supposed to get onto an active runway, for ANY REASON! The ground controllers should have stopped the fire trucks, or at the very least told them that the runway was active. But we don't hear what was happening with the fire trucks versus ground control. This could have become a vicious cycle. Accident happens, and more fire trucks respond. Then THEY get in an accident with an airplane, and then MORE fire trucks respond, and more aircraft crash into them, thus requiring EVEN MORE fire trucks, and so on, until it's a blazing inferno of a cacaphony! Maybe even a tintabulation! |
