Plane Crashes into Paranaque City Neighborhood
On December 10, 2011, a devastating plane crash occurred in Paranaque City, Philippines, involving a twin-engine Beechcraft Queen Air light aircraft. The aircraft tragically crashed into a slum area, immediately bursting into flames. All three people aboard the aircraft perished in the crash, along with eleven individuals on the ground. Additionally, twenty more people on the ground sustained injuries. The aircraft had taken off from Manila International Airport, bound for San Jose Airport on the island of Mindoro. Shortly after takeoff, the aircraft experienced an engine failure. The crew's handling of this emergency situation was critically flawed, leading to the loss of control at low altitude and the subsequent crash. The Aircraft Accident Investigation and Inquiry Board of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines conducted an investigation, which revealed that the aircraft's left engine failed due to oil starvation. Factors contributing to the accident included inadequate training of the crew, insufficient maintenance procedures, and a lack of regulatory oversight. The air traffic control's deviation from standard departure procedures was also highlighted as a contributing factor to the crash.

Re: Plane Crashes into Paranaque City Neighborhood
Port engine out. One thing I can tell you as a pilot is that when it comes to a twin and an engine failure if one engine quits the other usually gets you to the accident site. At that altitude when a wing stalls there just isn't enough time to do jack shit
