Re: Death Video of Air Cargo Boeing 747 Crash at Bagram Airfield
Nope. You recover from a stall by decreasing the angle of attack (lowering the nose) and applying full throttle to increase airspeed. They didn't have nearly enough altitude to recover once they lost lift. When the load shifted aft on a climbout that steep, the plane was doomed...there was no way to recover.

WOW, not surprised they died in that. The thing feel out of the sky like a brick and ended in a mini-nuclear explosion.

Ayup. That's what I meant by 'not enough room'. Your's was a great description. Time and the CVR will tell if they kept their wits about them and tried to so Something, However futile it was. It look like it, but as you say, they were doomed. |

Re: Death Video of Air Cargo Boeing 747 Crash at Bagram Airfield
I have a recurring nightmare theme of being in a car and watching a plane go down. They've been everything from little two-seaters to huge passenger jets to military planes. Because of that, I have no doubt in my mind that some day, I will actually witness a plane crash. Because I'm only heartless online at DR, I refuse to look at any planes I see in the sky. LOL
