Not far up the road from me - was on that stretch of A27 last week. Its a dangerous road, along with the M27 which it joins- but the danger is usually from twats driving too fast, not from things falling from the skies!

Re: Airshow Plane Crashes into Cars on A27 at Shoreham, West Sussex
South East Coast Ambulance Service said the victims died at the scene, while another person is critical in hospital. The number of injured stands at 14. The plane crashed on the nearby A27. Witnesses said it was performing a loop but could not complete the manoeuvre. Eyewitness Stephen Jones said: "The aeroplane involved is a Hawker Hunter T mark 7. And he'd just begun his flying display. The plane reportedly struck at least four cars on the A27 motorway, including a wedding limousine. A motorist on the busy stretch of road, Lee Atkinson, was driving in heavy traffic on the A27 about 1.30pm local time on Saturday when the jet suddenly became visible overhead as it plunged towards the ground. The pilot, who has been named as Andy Hills, appears to attempt to straighten the plane before hitting the ground, causing massive plumes of flame and smoke to rise. Mr Hills was pulled from the wreckage alive but is in hospital with life-threatening injuries. |

I'm no expert, I am an aircraft enthousiest and it appeared he did not have enough thrust pulling out of the loop. Even the most seasoned pilots can be overwhelmed by those kind of g's |
