Re: The Truth About Pit Bulls.
yeah,Vicks is the epitome of bad owner I'm very glad those dogs are still around and have been rehabilitated,I figured they'd have all been put down.A little love and care can wash away the taints of a bad life it seems I think the main fear comes from the fact that the hallways are typically a safe place, and then suddenly this incident occurs and now a safe place has lost that safe-zone mentallity Hmmm,if they're typically laid back perhaps there is more we don't know, some form of neglect or maybe starvation (can't blame a starved animal for going after any form of smaller animal as prey) Hehe dumpster, the name makes me imagine a dog built like a tank See,take out the name calling and the discussion isn't all one sided and troll-ish feeling anyumore I personally have a pure German Shepard, and American Eskimo and a rescued mix that looks like a papillon with pointy ears The Shepard is uber laid back and actually quite lethargic, the eskimo is the adhd doggie of the bunch and the little mixy cutie is the ruler of the roost @MESE:Nice dogs that first pic looks like it could be straight from some type of treat advert |

Re: The Truth About Pit Bulls.
I had an American Eskimo Dog when I was a kid. She was a beautiful dog and I loved her very much but she would kill a cat in a heart beat. She wouldn't hurt our cat but any other cat that walked into our yard died. She was a rabbit hunting fool also. She would run rabbits down until she caught them. Very high prey drive. Dogs are individuals just as people are tho.....

Re: The Truth About Pit Bulls.
Since we had cats first, ours is pretty chill around cats, but shit like the local squirrels and possums are his most hated nemesis' The squirrels usually get away, but he has managed to rattle the trees they hop into hard enough that they fall out and he nails em And major major thumbs up to the part of your post I bolded, there is no truer statement |

Re: The Truth About Pit Bulls.
I loved this thread. I was raised around pitbulls my whole life, and I've got my own now. His name is Otis, and the only time he ever gets hostile is towards other PITBULLS. He's great friends with the German Shepherd across the street, but this guy walks his pit by my house and Otey starts freaking out, barking growling at him, trying to run at him if he's outside. It's great! GREAT THREAD. Thank you for this!
