I had pictures of a spider about that size, that i found at our house in Australia in -05 i don't have the pictures now. I'll see if i can find them.
lol that's one thing I don't miss back home - the routine of checking your shoes everyday. :)

Yes I the forum it was posted on 6 years ago debated it being a spider from Australia, people were debating as to it being a Funnel Web Spider, though others debated it to be another Arachnid which name slips my mind now.

Edit: just did some research, the other people believed it to be a huntsman spider.
It's a huntsman and if you don't stick your finger in its arse it won't bite. You can pick them up if you don't move too fast and freak it out too.

I had a spider that big, for a pet. He used to sleep on my tummy He escaped though.. I miss him dearly..

That is definately a huntsman spider. I've seen enough of them myself in the past, and they can grow pretty bloody huge.
