The Sound of Imploding Glass Flotation Spheres
The first loud pop you hear would be the hull cracking, and the second would be the actual implosion from the pressure chamber failing, and crushing anything inside within milliseconds. At a pressure of 250-400 atmospheres, the hull would have been crushed at around 7 times the speed of sound. The slow echo of the implosion would be heard for the remainder of the audio. The SDR graph which would be used to compare and identify the implosion of Titan. |

Not an expert on sound waves, and I did not research the talking heads, just my opinion: 1. At those pressures, and considering that carbon fiber fails catastrophically, I expect hull breach and implosion to occur in the same instant. 2. The frequency of the first sound (attributed to hull breach) and all subsequent sounds is the same. It is too much of a coincidence for the frequency between the hull breach and the claimed implosion to match the frequency of the echos. 3. I think the more likely interpretation is the first sound is hull breach and implosion, and the subsequent sounds are all echos. |

You raise a good argument and I would agree with you that the two should sound off simultaneously but, it doesn't say what the hull is made of carbon fiber. The title is misleading and I apologize for that since I just copied and pasted it from the source. But it says it's a Glass Flotation Sphere. Which makes no sense to me at all since if it were glass then it should definitely happen at the same time. But then in the description it says it's a hull. I think the frequency of the implosion is a little bit higher than the breach. |
