Re: Several Different Pictures of Tarantulas
And I don't breed on my own yet, I don't really have the time and I'm a bit nervous about that but there's a local breeder that I'm cool with that I'll allow to breed my spiders.

Re: Several Different Pictures of Tarantulas
cool post.i just went to an insect exhibit in nj. they had tons of tarantulas and spiders called african bird eaters. they were massive. i've thought of getting a tarantula, but they kinda seem like a lot to take care of making sure the temp is okay, misting them..cleaning the cage out..anyway, thanks for the post |

Re: Several Different Pictures of Tarantulas
Different species require different levels of care.. desert species, for instance, really don't need to be misted, ever, haha, and really, most tarantulas can be kept just fine at room temperature.. Heating lamps etc. are actually discouraged unless you keep your home really cold. Glad you liked it. |

Re: Several Different Pictures of Tarantulas
I am really enjoying this thread. I am scared, well not so much scared, but more repulsed by spiders, because of all their legs and the way they 'scuttle'. I never kill spiders though. I just let them do their thing unless they chase me. Then all bets are off. I am loving reading all this info you are all sharing about your tarantulas. I had no idea they came in so many beautiful colours. Sheesh, I made them sound like handbags now! |
