Notre Dame Hospital, Biddeford Maine

I took a look, and didn't see this place posted. I hope it's not a duplicate. I used to drive past it every working day, and in blizzard conditions it was really eerie. The first pic shows when it was in use. It's still sort of in the middle of nowhere.

Unless vandals get at it, it's amazing how nature ravages a place. Just one lonely janitor keeping the lights on and the place cleared can stop all this.

Re: Notre Dame Hospital, Biddeford Maine

It was run by the Infirmieres Religieuses de St. Joseph. Notre Dame Hospital merged with the Webber Hospital in 1969.

Re: Notre Dame Hospital, Biddeford Maine

Old hospitals are great! I got to (legally) scavenge from an abandoned hospital in my town. Just knowing about all the lives that came and went through that place, it made the walls feel almost alive.

Re: Notre Dame Hospital, Biddeford Maine

I always thought of hospitals as "launching pads" for souls..........the earth is shrouded in a dense grey fog........and out of these particular buildings, souls keep flying out.......

Re: Notre Dame Hospital, Biddeford Maine

My roommate used to work there. She is more "sensitive" to paranormal entities than I am, but I periodically can detect spirits. She can often see their residual self-image; I've only observed a full-boy apparition once, but that's another story.

Anyway, she told me about at least two ghosts that were present at the old hospital I scavenged. I didn't see them, but there definitely at least two confirmed spirits in that old building.

Unless vandals get at it, it's amazing how nature ravages a place.

In fact, it has been estimated that, once humans make themselves extinct, nature will require a mere 10,000 years to obliterate all things made-made, save for all things nuclear.
