Gunmen opened fire on a fuel tanker reportedly bound for NATO forces in Doshi district, Afghanistan, on December 15, 2012, causing it to catch fire and be abandoned. Local residents blamed the Taliban for the attack, but police spokesman Sayed Zaman Hussaini said the assailants were unidentified armed men and that an investigation was underway.

While the tanker was still burning, residents gathered around it with buckets and jerrycans and removed fuel. Some filled containers beside the flames as police guarded the scene and watched. No casualties were reported.
