Re: Trayvon Martin Crime Scene Photos
I don't know... I don't think it has anything to do with "race baiters". Problem for him is, and they should most certainly get him on it, that he could have prevented the whole event by a) using the sense a rock has, and b) even failing having common sense, listening to advisement from the non-emergency operator, and his training for neighborhood watch/law enforcement courses. Even things you learn when going for a CCW permit. You never, EVER go towards a conflict when you have a gun on you. Ever. You go the other way if you sense a conflict could be caused, and it's your duty to do so unless it's impossible. It was not only possible, but he actually sought out a way to keep from avoiding confrontation. He didn't stand his ground, he actually purposefully sought a situation where he forced someone else to stand THEIR ground, then HAD to use deadly force when it went south for him (if you believe his story of course). He's wrong, period. The end. There's no room for debate on it really even going from his own story, no matter how you slice it. And he should be punished to the fullest extent possible because his utter idiocy resulted in someone's death. But murderer? Nah. People who are saying he went out that night with intent to murder a kid are blowing it into something it isn't at all. Who knows what the jury will decide, but it is what it is. |

Re: Trayvon Martin Crime Scene Photos
This is the problem with the current state of Stand your ground laws in the U.S. Although I support a person's right to defend themselves, people need to be better educated on just what constitutes self-defense, and what constitutes looking for a fight. I feel like the prosecution failed to prove second degree murder. My guess would be Zimmerman gets convicted of manslaughter. The way the media handled this case though was extremely amoral, and I would hope that if Zimmerman does get acquitted, he could sue them for doctoring his pictures and 911 call. |

Re: Trayvon Martin Crime Scene Photos
Exactly. In what realm anyone could think this constitutes stand your ground on Zimmerman's part, is beyond me. It WAS self defense of sorts if Martin was indeed beating his ass. But he caused the ass beating he got in the first place, it's in no way at all a case of "stand your ground" as people like to say. I think this is just a guy who thought he could be some sort of hero, and his bad judgement and defiance of sound, prudent advice from people who KNOW these situations, everything he would have learned obtaining CCW, law enforcement courses, etc. resulted in the death of an unarmed minor who was doing nothing at all wrong. In fact Martin to a degree was totally justified in what he allegedly did to Zimmerman. Zimmerman deserves to be punished to the max capable for directly causing the death of an innocent, especially seeing as he provoked every part of it... but people need to stop trying to pin MURDER or racism on him... The media absolutely is guilty of it as well, agreed. |

Re: Trayvon Martin Crime Scene Photos
I'd like to add that in the event of any angry riots in the aftermath of an acquittal, I hold the media indirectly responsible. They may not have lit the match, but they've done as much as they could to fan the flames. All these stations and 'news outlets' covered the LA riots. They know damn well the dangers of treating blacks and whites as 'equal but separate' citizens. It's time to retire that mentality, but how can anyone do that when major media is so determined to convince people that everyone secretly hates each other, even when they've never shown any prior racial prejudice in their life. Despicable. You'll find more credible reporting in the National Enquirer. |

Re: Trayvon Martin Crime Scene Photos
What? Committing (what basically amounts to) felony assault& battery against a guy because he's following you while talking on the phone to 911 is totally justified? Seriously? I may agree with a few of the more salient points of your post, but the statement I quoted above is patently fucking ridiculous and, unfortunately, diminishes the worth of all of your other opinions by mere association and proximal stupidity. |

Re: Trayvon Martin Crime Scene Photos
Exactly. Even George's own story/all the recordings available don't support that Martin was beating him for no reason at all. The holes in it make it even more clear. We can't know exactly what happened, sure. But it's blatantly clear even from the inconsistencies and circumstances around the whole thing, that Martin didn't assault a kind hearted, well meaning neighborhood watchman who was just calmly trailing him while talking to non emergency. If one believes Martin was given no reason at all to physically confront Zimmerman, they have not been paying any attention at all.

Re: Trayvon Martin Crime Scene Photos
Dumbass. I wasn't speculating about what happened. I was quoting another poster who claimed that Martin was 'totally justified' in what he ALLEGEDLY did. He ALLEGEDLY beat the shit out of Zimmerman, which was exactly what the other poster was referring to. Learn to fucking read for content before you go off half cocked. |
