KENDRICK JOHNSON TO BE EXHUMED FOR SECOND AUTOPSY

Valdosta, GA - A major development in the story of a Lowndes High School student found dead at school. The body of 17 year old Kendrick Johnson, better known as KJ, will be exhumed for a second autopsy.

Johnson's family has gained permission from a judge to have his body exhumed because they don't trust the original autopsy report. Johnson's body was found rolled up in a gym mat at Lowndes High School in January. The Sheriff's Office says Johnson suffocated in the mat trying to grab a shoe and the original autopsy report ruled it an accident.

Attorney for the family Chevene King says the story just doesn't add up.

"What we're saying is that it involved someone else and that's not at all suggested by the Sheriff's theory," King said.

King believes the second autopsy will confirm Johnson's death was a homicide. He says the body will be exhumed within the next two weeks. Johnson is buried at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Valdosta.

Eyewitness News obtained the order from the courthouse. It includes some conditions like the family is responsible for paying the costs of exhuming the body and that the body has to be returned to the grave within 30 days.

"The arrangements will be made to have the body transported to another pathologist who is an expert in the area of forensic pathology to take a look at Kendrick's remains and to determine what matters were missed by the first autopsy," King said.

Lamar Reddick, 22, was arrested by police in Thomas County, GA and charged with terroristic threats. *According to news reports, he posted a death threat on his Facebook page threatening to kill Thomas County Sheriff Chris Prine with an assault rifle and 15,000 rounds. *Reddick was reportedly upset at the Sheriff's Office regarding its determination that the death of a local man found rolled up in a cheerleading mat was an accident. *The decease's family believes that their son was murdered. *Reddick was booked into the Thomas County Jail and has been released after posting bond.

Raciest investigators do more to keep this country lawless. Every person involved with this investigation should be brought up before a federal investigative committee. Very sad for his family.

No way you can get into a rolled mat unless someone rolls you into it.Foul play in my book.Someone sure did not like him.In the states even plain in your face murders get covered up by authorities if it suits them.Its not like in the movies where you get the guilty party.In real life they walk among folks shamelessly,while the evidence gets discarded.

Looks like he's been dead about 4 or 5 days in 80 degree heat , I can see why it's a closed coffin ! He looks God awful !

Where is this racism coming from, I saw no claim of racism in the story. Incompetent investigation does not imply racism, just careless or dumb investigators.

I just wish more people would get this point. I guess my question now would be, how will people react if the second autopsy confirms the results of the first autopsy?

if I was serious about finding the truth about my sons death, I wouldn't want al Sharpton anywhere around. I would want the focus on my child, not this media whore
