Interesting fact: Sam Cooke's wife was said to allegedly been cheating on him with singer Bobby Womack (who was being mentored by Sam at the time). Years later, on the show "Unsung" (on TV One), Womack would deny this, saying he went over to the house to "look after her" as she was distraught over Sam's death. This does not explain why he would go to the funeral wearing Sam's clothes. Sam's brothers/relatives kicked his ass outside for that.  |

You're such a fuckin idiot most times you speak. You just don't even have a clue. The ghetto mentality or mindset you speak of didn't exist back then. That didn't come around to the late 80s and was in full swing by the 90s when the crack epidemic reached its peak. LMFAO!!!! I just lost some respect for Bobby. That's really fucked. And like ppl say in here, the details are sketchy and dead men can't speak. I believe he was robbed and murdered too. Motels are notorious for criminal activity. He shouldn't of been there.

I agree, shitty motels are notorious for criminal activity and he definitely shouldn't have been there. Whether he was set up and robbed or he actually did go on a mad dingo rage kicking doors in and shit can be debated. The one thing that is in my opinion undeniable is the fact that he was there thinking he was getting some ass. Just think about, he's not going to allow some women ( or both of those women ) to man handle him and strip him of his pants. No, he got out of those pants completely on his own, which means that no matter what happened afterwards, it was his own bad behavior that left him in that door way that night (I'm not saying he deserved that by any means, I'm just pointing out a fact). And that is a real shame, because he really was a talented guy who should've been around for a lot longer.  SAM COOKE |
