Speaking as an NRA member, cop, and gun enthusiast, I can tell you a lot of us knew someone would misuse the bump stocks when they were approved by the Obama administration in 2010 and that they'd quickly be regulated or outright outlawed eventually. The problem when you talk about "gun control" is that the gun grabbers don't want any compromise or agreement at all, despite making that claim. For example, I think 90% of all gun people would absolutely agree with no fight to making bump stocks Title II regulated if the gun grabbers agreed to letting suppressors be treated the same as any other gun purchase and removed from Title II status. Long story short, regulate bump stocks, approve the Hearing Protection Act. |

Thanks Dodecahedron Yeah, I just noticed that reported on BBC News. I guess they realise the jig is up on those modifications now so they are getting ahead of it before even more restrictions are demanded. Interesting that a bill was proposed to ban those modifications a while back and yet it didn't get anywhere. I guess those bump-stock devices didn't enter the non-gun-buying mass consciousness until now. |
