I never understood this. The Vietnam War was being fought in a politically correct way (just like the ones that we're in now), and then Nixon finally decided to go into Cambodia where the Viet Cong were hiding, knowing that this country wouldn't cross the border. They finally did something right, and then these people protested it.

Nixon had been elected in '68 and one of his pledges was to end the draft. By 1970 this had not been done and the move into Cambodia was seen by those in the peace movement as a clear escalation of the Vietnam war hence the increasing protests. Nevermind the fact that this was a war being waged against a Third World country in the first place. At no point during the disturbances on May 4 was the use of live ammo necessary. I still think what happened that day at Kent State was murder. |

I live in Kent to make a comment about how people felt back then is retarded considering its about the most full of shit statment I have heard on here , the protests at ksu happened 150 yards from my house it was a completely peaceful protest unroll they brought the national guard from the ravenna arsinal witch is about 6 miles down the road , abviosly you know what happened because you have Google but you know shit about facts kid this was my home.
