Re: Pictures From The End of Schutzstaffel
He'd just have ended up being hung for war crimes. I know that it would've been the humanitarian option but I don't think any of us can even begin to imagine the rage that surfaced in these people from having their friends, family and children slaughtered before them. Having their humanity stripped from them. At this point after their ordeal in these camps I imagine they pretty much had nothing left in them except pure pain and rage. In that state I'm sure you would've had nothing left in your psyche that could've stopped you from letting that shovel fly. The book "Night" by Elie Weisel is a very intimate description of his experience in the camps. He describes even getting to the point where he watched his father die in the marches away from the camp when the allies approached and he felt nothing and couldn't mourn for his dead father because he had no feelings of humanity left in him. That's where all these people were at. That aspect scares the shit out of me moreso than any of the actual atrocities. Those prisoners deserved their revenge. |

Re: Pictures From The End of Schutzstaffel
Oh, don't misunderstand me. They deserved their rage and revenge, and I don't blame them a bit if they did in fact smash him to pieces with the shovel. But just imagine their psychological "victory" over him if they, having suffered so much at his and his comrades' hands, had risen above base instincts and shown their humanity, refraining from taking his life at a moment when it was easiest and most understandable to do so. |

I hold, absolutely, no pity whatsoever for nazis, skinheads, KKK's, or BPM's. Anything that happens to such hate mongers is only karma doing it's thing. Remember, "The nail that sticks out, gets hammered down"!

Re: Pictures From The End of Schutzstaffel
Cool pix. I especially like the one with the guys about to kill the ss guard with a shovel. The guard is just kinda chillin' there...as if he's kicking back at the beach or something. He looks peaceful, not afraid. Maybe he wanted to die, rather than live with the sick memories of what the Nazis all did.......
