I'm speaking from a purely civilian stand point here, not law enforcement or some specially licensed military person.
My point being was that it takes a LOT for a civilian to get a fully automatic/select fire weapon (time, money, notary letter from a senior LEO) not to mention the pre-1986 only weapon purchase. YES you can get them and I guess NEAR impossible is the wrong term, I should have said NOT WORTH IT to most civis.

Assault rifle no, it was not select fire. Also, like I pointed out earlier, look at the statistics and ballistics test of an FN five seven, those pistols are made to penetrate armor and for accuracy. It would have made as much of an impact or more beings it can be concealed and he could have carried multiple of them.
And again, magazine capacity is a MOOT POINT. Anyone who takes a little bit of time reloading/unloading a rifle can do it in seconds if not faster. Not to toot my own horn but being a civi and going to the range every weekend I have gotten pretty fast at mag changes.

Assault is a style of weapon based on physical characteristics, it has nothing to do with fire capability. An MP5 isn't an assault rifle, even though it fits the bill with your definition and is at many times fully automatic with semi as an option.

You are the mistaken one, continue on with your misinformation if you wish to though. People like you are the reason that every single black rifle is called an "AR-15" and every other rifle with auto as an option is an "AK-47" by the misguided public.
