It's very sad when a person like this can manipulate the courtroom because the system is more suspect than the criminal. Her actions are still apparent in the second death penalty phase (February 22, 2015) and hopefully she will get what she asked for, the death penalty. This is important as she will be isolated and not in a situation where she can be the "Star" or given attention....

What's really shocking here is that Jodi Arias says that she now remembers the knife going into Travis’ throat and that he was conscious at the time (2:30). Throughout the entire trial she had denied remembering the stabbing, claiming that she was in a memory fog because of PTSD, even bringing in multiple expert witnesses testifying on the brain & supporting the PTSD claim. With this one statement Jodi is essentially saying that a significant part of her defense that she has steadfastly stood by, the PTSD defense, was a farce. How much more does Jodi remember about the murder? Since the slit throat occurred near the end, she probably remembers everything.

One has to wonder why Jodi would bring something like that up at a time like this. Was she trying to come clean about the murder or was it a final vicious parting shot at Travis' friends & family? It's obvious she wasn't trying to come clean after hearing her go immediately back to her self-defense claim, saying Travis was the one attacking her. So if she wasn't trying to come clean, then what was the purpose? Just before saying this, she says that she would have testified to it during the trial. What was holding her back then?

When Jodi testified in her secret testimony at the penalty phase re-trial, she did not mention anything about self-defense. Now that she knows her life is not on the line, perhaps she’s feeling more emboldened and going back on the offensive in preparation for an appeal and possible re-trial.

On another note, at 1:29 Jodi seemed bothered by a baby crying in the background. She stopped speaking and looked back in that direction as if she was being rudely interrupted. She almost looked annoyed, as if the baby was taking up HER moment.
