Re: Elvis Presley Autopsy Report, 1978

From what I understand, Elvis had a severe congenital issue with his colon (Hirschsprung's disease) that doctors at the time would probably have corrected by removing part of the colon, probably leaving him with a colostomy bag or something. NOT a good look for a rock star. So he opted to take prescription drugs to deal with it. Then he needed more drugs to deal with the side effects of the other drugs, and so on. He had also had a barium enema at one point but was never able to expel all the fluid because of the colon blockage, so the barium basically turned into cement in his bowels. Really awful problem...too bad they didn't have better treatment options back then.

11 drugs in his system? No wonder he died!

Cool to see his last known photo of him alive being included in the OP.

I'm guessing that the colon obstruction found was a direct result of his use of opiates that were found in his system. Who knows how long that had been going on.

Re: Elvis Presley Autopsy Report, 1978

He was taking a boatload of opiates and other constipation causing sedatives, but 18 inches of impacted shit in his colon tells me something horrendous is going on medically.
