Re: Crime Scene Pictures From The McDonald's Massacre in 1984
Watched it. Pretty good in the respect that the entire documentary doesn't once name the shooter, the victims tell compelling stories, and the raw video of the crime scene is amazing. However, the idiot director is a terrible interviewer. He has some terrible responses to the victims and he tries several "gotcha" moments with the cops. The most repugnant moment of which is when he asks one of the responding officers if he felt he "got away with it." He seems to be trying to make a political statement on the graves of the victims by attacking the cops response. He fails to realize that this was an era (1984) completely devoid of the idea of "active shooters," cell phones, highly trained street officers, officers armed with rifles, and officers equipped with body armor. All in all, not bad for the raw crime scene video as well as the victims stories. But be prepared for possibly the worst kind of Monday morning quarterbacking ever put to film, that which is politically motivated and tone deaf to the constricts of the era. Returning to it's positives, I cannot say enough how happy I was that the shooters name wasn't once mentioned. I honestly wished the news media and entertainment industry would make a pact to stop naming the shooters in these insidious gutless attacks. I think it would make the idea of doing it less appealing to the psychos out there who just want their names in the public mind after their often to late death. |
