I am a gun owner, and I certainly ain't a liberal. My rifles and shotguns rarely see the light of day outside of their 2 ton bank safe, and when I take them hunting you would be able to count rounds fired on one hand.

All true. I have played the statistics game on here with people before who used bullshit statistics to prove their point. For instance in the case of gun control, someone might say well, statistics prove that state A has half the shootings that state B has because of blah blah blah... Then when you do some research you find out that state A only has a third of the population of state B. So basically, state A has MORE shootings than state B, not less.

So yeah, ALWAYS question statistics folks. Here's some out of many things to watch for, are the comparison's TRULY equal? And here's a BIGGIE, if they include info a about a so called study that was done. ALWAYS ask for details such as who did the study? Who PAID for the study? How long was it done? What were the conditions, etc?

For instance, a lot of companies lie such as in the case of monsanto who said that studies have proven their products don't cause cancer. Lol. Then you check into it and quickly learn that the studies they speak of were a few mice subjected to their product for 60 days time, by THEIR OWN LAB!

Then another entity did a open study on mice subjected to the same products for more than 90 days, and at the 90 day point a large amount of the mice started getting cancer. Which tells you monsanto knows what their product does and purposely cut off the supposed length of the study just before the mice got cancer, but at the maximum number days they could stretch it to make it sound good.

So, moral of the story, be careful about quoting or having quoted to you, statistics!

No problem, I can take being offended. Considering what you say though, you say you own firearms, but your attitude toward them and U.S. gun rights sound directly contradictory. Maybe I'm missing something? I think a large part of the problem is that what people hear and have an impression of in other countries is totally misleading and outright wrong.

It's easy to get caught in our own paradigm or life and not fully understand the life of others in other countries. For instance, while we sit here discussing things online, we rarely think about the person in Africa who just lost a child to starvation or violence, etc. We get caught up in our politics or lives according to where we live and exist.

What you hear for instance is obama saying we need more gun control, etc. What you THINK that means is that anyone can get a gun at the local convenience store without and ID, lol. Like we have gun vending machines at the local gas station, lol.

These days when politicians speak, they are speaking to a global audience. That's something we have to ALWAYS remember. When obama who is a licensed lawyer and professional liar like all lawyers, speaks, he does so in a specific way.

Like almost every president we've had for the past 100 years, yes obama is a lawyer. He speaks to people in other countries like yourself when he speaks. He's careful to use terms like gun control, rather than saying guns can be easily bought at any store, lol. Which of course everyone here would call bullshit on and ask him if he was smoking crack, including his own party.

He KNOWS that people like yourself are going to get the point of view on the situation that he wants you to get. Add a quick clip of a shooting crime scene and cries of a woman in an interview, and anyone turns into an instant bleeding heart anti gun liberal IF they do not know what is really going on here.

What you do NOT understand is the politics of guns in this country and the countless bullshit legal terms that are being used that sound like everyday english, but aren't and what obama is REALLY saying. He is making a MAJOR push for the minimum of a total ban on what they refer to assault weapons, which is not clearly defined and can include all semi automatics including handguns.

We already have gun control. You already have to provide proof of who you are and have a background check to get a gun. Liberals have pushed and gotten their way so far and will continue to do so.

What people in other countries don't understand is that in order to have more so called gun control, there is ONLY place it can go from here. Which is making ownership and buying of most if not all semi automatics illegal. And that's JUST the next step, not the end game by far.

So when you hear obama say gun control and you hear Americans reply with, fuck you, hopefully it will make more sense to you why that happens after this explanation, lol.

Oh and also, it's worth pointing out that some of the anti gun people on this site like everywhere in the world have clearly illustrated that they don't even understand the most basic things about guns.

They don't know the difference between semi automatic and fully automatic. Or even what automatic means. They think everything referred to as an assault weapon is fully auto. So when they hear assault weapons ban, they think that means just banning guns like the M60 used by Stallone in Rambo, lol. They don't have a understanding of even the basics, but they will cry out for more "gun control", lol.

No. You are almost completely incorrect. Where did you get this information?

The only thing you have correct is that the wife was the driver. HE got out and ran and was gunned down while running, some ways away from the SUV. SHE stayed in the driver's seat after he left, firing several rounds out the window at the police.

After riddling the SUV with bullets, the police pried the door of the SUV open and her body tumbled out. Every news source that has relayed the events has indicated this scenario and you can also see it in the video footage. You can see her body in the screen grab on page 6, lying face down with her shirt partially up and her bra exposed, right next to the SUV.

Pretty sure this has already been explained at least once, though it was probably lost in the 15 pages of people pissing on each other's shoes and having screaming matches about gun control.
