Re: Chris Farley Death Photos
A Confederacy of Dunces. I recently ordered the novel because I've heard it's the funniest thing ever written. The book's author was already emotionally fragile for most of his life, and failure to get it published led to his suicide. It was due to his mother's persistence and in a lot of cases harassment that she finally got a novelist to read past the first few pages. The publisher that originally agreed to print the book gave the first run only 800 copies. 400 went to the man who gave the manuscript to the publishers in the first place. He then used gave his 400 copies to various people in the film industry as an attempt to sell the movie rights which he eventually did. After the author's suicide as far as deaths related to the movie go, John Belushi was to meet with studio execs to play the lead however he died of a drug overdose the very night before. Soon after one of the producers for the project was murdered by her husband. A decade later John Candy was supposed to be the lead till he died of a heart attack, and finally Chris Farley was cast for the same project but we know how that ended too. Up until a few years ago Will Ferrell was working on getting the film underway too. As far as eerie coincidences with John Candy and John Belushi goes, Chris Farley idolized John Belushi. He also died of a drug overdose at the same age as him. Chris Farley and John Candy also died before finishing filming scenes for Westerns. |
