the autopsy on him found he had a tumour on his brain some have linked this to his rampage

Charles Whitman also known as the Texas Tower Sniper was a former Marine who killed 16 people and wounded 32 others during a shooting rampage on the University of Texas campus. He also killed his mother and wife before continuing on to the campus. Austin Police Officers were finally able to stop the sniper by ambushing him.

Yes, I love researching mass murders like these... This man has killed more people in America in one run than any other Americans. The Wikipedia article on this is really interesting, definitely a recommended read.
