I know the Big Bopper's son had his body exhumed last year to make sure he was really dead. I read all of their Autopsy Reports and someone in authority took $10.50 or so out of each of their pockets. Sad! Richie Valens' story was especially sad, if you watched the movie with Gary Busey. He was happily married, his wife was pregnant with what would have been their first and only child. I recently read she lost the baby after his death :( |

You're right. It was $11.60 of fees to be exact from each (dead) person. Red tape in my eyes. The Busey-film is Hollywood. Don't believe too much in these films. And you're also right with Buddy's child. His wife lost it almost right after learning the tragic news. |

Wow. Reading the coroner's reports. I had to sit back and think for a bit afterwards. Very chilling. To me anyway. I hadn't been born yet but the music, I have been listening to most of my life.

If the funeral home is doing a thorough job, the embalmer will also embalm the body cavity, inserting a trocar (a hollow cylindrical spike) that allows the organs to be removed by suction aspiration and the cavity to be filled with embalming fluid. A plastic trocar "button" is then screwed into the trocar abdominal opening to seal it. I told my wife about this part of the procedure, and she thought I was messing with her. I told her they really do do that, and she said she had never heard of it before. I told her next time we got a body in the prep room, I would come get her and let her watch.....needless to say, she was not crazy about that idea.  |
