She was so good and a true jazz singer. Unfortunately, she had low self-esteem and was bulimic. If you think about it, this disorder is responsible for pretty much all things she did, alcohol, drugs, mood swings, and other crazy shit. She was shy by nature and that's not a good thing for a musician. She had to have a drink before every performance that can eventually escalate to serious problems and drugs. It's no surprise she took large amounts of GHB. What a tormented soul and very misunderstood. If you ask me I think her father played a huge role in her demise. Also, that leach for a boyfriend didn't help the situation either. A true artist with a passionate soul. That's my take on it. Very sad, sad indeed.

It's a sad story her one. She was beautiful supremely talented and a little messed up before being thrust into super stardom virtually overnight. Nothing could prepare anybody for what she went through, it was her dropkick boyfriend that fed her the drugs that began her downward spiral, unfortunately she was madly in love with him, so when he dumped her because of her deterioration she basically went into self destruct mode.

BTW she was great, one of the greatest.

Co-dependent relationship, whatever he did she wanted to be a part of it..I watched the documentary "Amy"..Outside of the mess her life was she was a caring and nice woman.

Her father was and still is a shameless money-grabber.

Yeah that's a great doc, the footage is amazing. Interesting to note that her father's book didn't mention anything much about her bulimia, I guess it was probably too painful for him to write about...

I thought the same about her father for much of the film, but at the end he was a rock for her, he really held her together and helped her recover from the drugs, and she absolutely adored him. There were some unfortunate happenings, but i think he was a good man just trying to do right by his daughter.

She totally had heart problems from bulimia and previous drug use and drinking did her in.

I think it is a death photo. The person who found her (saw documentary movie) stated thought she was just sleeping.

I remember reading somewhere, that this was from prior to her death. Maybe just a few days prior, one of the last parties that she attended.

She was yet another tormented, yet highly talented, soul. And those souls tend to die pretty young, unfortunately.

Amy's issues were due to a stupid man who got her into drugs. She had the talent and the beauty. Jealousy is a terrible thing.

There is a documentary about her trip to the audition. May she rest in peace.
