He already was. It was common knowledge back then that he had had many "affairs" on Sharon. They said that she knew he was doing these things and disapproved of all of it, but understood that that was just him.

She was in a bathtub filming a scene in, The Fearless Vampire Killers, (Roman was the director) when Roman walked up to her and asked her something along the lines of "you want to sleep with me, don't you?" To which she replied "yes."

From all the reading I've done on their relationship, he was a serial cheater from the beginning and never wanted kids, due to what he went through during WWII. He wasn't pleased when she originally told him she was pregnant, but eventually grew used to the idea.

A lot of things have been said about him waiting so long to join Sharon at the Cielo Dr. house and one of those was that she was planning on leaving him after the birth of their son, Paul. Apparently, she and Jay Sebring (also murdered that night) were going to get back together. They were very close friends and had previously dated, but he was with her an awful lot during their last couple of weeks. (Pics taken literally days before the murders)


You can see his obvious hurt over Sharon's death in his press conference after returning to California and seeing the Cielo Dr. house. I have no doubts he was upset, but Sharon's sister Debra acts like they had some kind of fairytale marriage. She was, I think 16 at the time of the murders so I highly doubt her sister would have told her about numerous affairs and other sexual escapades.


A little side note, in the loft above the living room, where the murders took place, police found a Roman and Sharon sex tape. Apparently it was watched by just about every cop in that particular precinct and then "politely" returned to the home in time for Roman to not realize it was missing.

i drove up to the house on Cielo Dr when i serviced washer and dryers in beverly hills, I got to the gate and was spooked just siiting there in my truck, the house was tore down shortly after.

I always found it so interesting that people always curse Charles Manson when he didn't actually carry out any of the murders, personally, [except perhaps Bernard Crowe] but he'll never get out of prison because every time (12 times so far) he's gone before the parole panel he goes on psychotic rants and isn't granted parole.
