Re: Actor River Phoenix Lying Dead in a Casket
There are tons of pictures of dead celebrities circulating out there and I'm sure most of you are already familiar with most of them, but recently I came across a photo of River Phoenix that I have NEVER seen before (and that's after more than a decade of searching gore on the internet so hopefully it's new to you, too). River Phoenix was, of course, the 23-year-old actor who had starred in such films as 'Stand By Me', 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade', 'Running on Empty', and 'My Own Private Idaho'. On the evening of October 30, 1993, River and a few friends were enjoying a night of music and drugs at the popular Hollywood night club called The Viper Room which at the time was owned by actor Johnny Depp. At some point River went to the restroom and was offered a line of Persian Brown (a strong ass form of methamphetamine mixed with opiates and cocaine) from a drug dealer of his. Shortly after snorting the drug he became ill and started convulsing. He was brought outside to get some fresh air where he then collapsed and began convulsing even more violently than before for a total of eight minutes! 911 was called and he was brought to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where all attempts to revive him failed. He was pronounced dead at 1:51 AM PST on the morning of October 31, 1993. On the day of his funeral a reporter snuck into River Phoenix's service and snapped the following photo of the dead actor lying in his casket.  |
