KJ Noons can get his jaw broken by Diaz again if he wants, sure. That's not quite the same situation though, don't remember a big list of fighters going on twitter saying Diaz lost that fight to Noons prior to the decision being given and there sure as hell weren't any fans saying Noons won. No one said what fight were those judges watching. At least not any that didn't have the last name Noons.

lroy I understand where you're coming from but try to undersand something here. If the conduit daiz fight was scored in the original ufc format then I could understand how the decision could be controversial. Today's mma is far from what it used to be in all aspects of the game including the scoring system.

I personally despise the new mma scoring criteria. It favors point fighters over people that come to finish fights but it is what it is. It's like beating a fucking dead horse arguing over it.

The 10 must system in mma.

The most commonly used scoring system used for MMA competition is the 10 Point Must system. Each round of a contest is scored individually and if no submission or KO occurs, these are totalled up and a decision announced.

The winner of a round will be awarded 10 points, and the loser 9 points or less.

Criteria that the judges will be assessing, in order of priority, are as follows: -

Effective Aggressiveness.
This is determined as the fighter showing most effort to win. It is of no use to simply be aggressive. The fighter’s effort must be effective effort.

Effective Technique.
This area includes Striking, Clinch Work, Takedowns, Submission attempts, Transitioning, and Positioning.

Cage/ Ring Control. This is assessed by determining which fighter has used the fighting area to his / her advantage the most.
Defence / Escapes.
This area includes avoiding and blocking of strikes, reversals from pins and mount, escapes from submissions i.e. transitioning to avoid a submission, etc. etc.

The above areas are to be used in order of priority, and each consecutive area is only considered if the preceding one has been determined to be equal for both fighters. If a fighter dominates area ‘a’ there is no need to assess area ‘b’, and so on.

Judges should be well versed in all areas of MMA competition and techniques, and should show no bias to just one area, i.e. striking over submissions.

A head judge will be appointed at each contest. This judge will not score the contest directly, however it is his responsibility to ensure that the scoring is kept consistent and of a high standard. The head judge may ask for any of the other three judges to be replaced if they are found to be incompetent.

Point deduction.

In the event of a foul, the referee may decide to deduct a point from the offending fighter.

At the conclusion of a contest the scorecards will be collected, the totals added, passed to the referee and a decision announced.

Decisions

Unanimous Win — all scorecards in favour of one fighter.

Majority Win — majority of scorecards in favour of one fighter.

Draw — All score cards equal.

Majority Draw — Majority of scorecards equal.

Now in a Kimbo back yard brawl Diaz wins the fight but most importantly, using this 10 mma system Condit wins easy. This is the agrument im trying to make here.

The three judges scored the fight unanimous for Condit which was the right call according to the 10 point system critieria. UFC president Dana White, Owner Lorenzo Frittita and all the major mma websites seen it the same way.

I have my opinion just like everyone else. Like it or not, I don't give a flying fuck. Imo Conduit is the man to dethrone GSP. Diaz has nothing for him.

You guys better give Condit his dues because he didn't have to take this rematch, he could have waited for Georges.

All the fight metric reports tell us is that Condit threw piss weak leg kicks and ran away while Diaz chased him the entire time, I dunno where this 'dominated' talk comes from. It's pretty obvious if you dominate someone they don't get medically cleared to fight again the same week while you get suspended.

Diaz has the striking game too beat GSP, he also has the bottom game too defuse GSP and sub him. I am not saying he is going to do it but I am saying he is much more of a threat to GSP then any of his other opponents, and especially more then Condit. What does Condit have? I fucking purple belt under Greg Jackson? GSP has a black belt under him and trians with Renzo Gracie. He is light years ahead of Condit on the ground, Condit does not have the TDD of Jose Aldo, he has been taken down many times but unlike the Kym fight he will not be able to sweep GSP.

Also the rules you posted have shown nothing at all too award Condit the fight. I guess it can be down too how you interpret them but Condit did nothing at all to show he was trying to win, just score points on the judges cards which should be rendered useless. The judges are there to score who wins out of a necessity, playing up to them shouldn't be rewarded. The fight should be judged based on a fight where the judges are not there. Modern MMA is turning into just another boring point fighting sport and it's going to be the downfall of it. Once the new FOX fans get wind of it they will go back to boxing.
