Re: I Know I Am Stirring Up a Hornet's Nest Here
RnR, when I was a Christian, I looked into it and was intrigued, but even then, as I researched, I decided that it was also a mathematical anomaly that can be reproduced with other works. Warack said it well.

Re: I Know I Am Stirring Up a Hornet's Nest Here
I had to google it because I've never heard of the bible code. But after a brief glimpse on google and Wiki it basically looks like you could make anything you wanted out of that if you look long enough. I truly don't know what I believe regarding God. The whole concept of how it all began according to the bible just does not ring true to me. Plus I was reading a New Testament someone had left at work the other day and the transcript at the beginning of this book said the bible was made up of over 60 different books written by many different people over many many years. I have never read the bible. Only parts of it. It just doesn't make sense to me, because going by the bible we are all out of 2 people, which makes us all related...and incest is a sin!!? I do at the same time believe there is some kind of 'higher power' and things we just don't understand yet. I am watching this thread with interest to read others comments as the entire subject interests me. |

True to an extent, but it does eventually stop. With the Bible Code, it just keeps on going. With Moby dick, they found some things that were related, but only so many. With the Bible Code, info just keeps on coming. Several people have tried to discredit it, but ended up believing that some one, or something, had to do it on purpose. |

I think meanings get lost in translation many times, and people assume what they are, and if that happens enough over several generations, one version will be somewhat different than another. I think it is worth pointing out that the Bible Code is only used from the old testament, and not the new testament. That is basiclly the Torah isn't it ? Also, the way they line it out, they don't use comas, periods, or any of that. |

God told only 2 people to have sex, not their children. So, God said to the man and the women "Go and fill the earth" The command was for them alone. They would have lived forever and the earth would have been filled by Adam and Eve. But after the sin, death followed and the kids (being little sinners now) were going to have sex and commit incest. Make sense? |

God told only 2 people to have sex, not their children. True, but how would the human race continue to grow without the first people here having sex with each other ? |
