For the blindfold thing, some schizophrenics can feel like they could really hurt someone just by looking at them. Or, considering the video is from 70 years ago, maybe the 'caretakers' thought they could be hurt by them if they were looked at. It wouldn't surprise me.

Man, The indie music video world would love this stock footage. Cool post though, I have always found the concept of losing your grasp on reality to be a truly terrifying concept. Especially at a time when getting lobotomized was a normal procedure. |

I worked in a drug rehabilitation center for a few years after retirement. The amount of these poor souls among us is truly a sad realization. Medication can help if they choose to take it but sadly many don't care for the way it makes them feel.
