Re: Symptoms in Schizophrenia (ca. 1940s)

This is so sad I cant believe it still exists in our brains, you cant even go outside without saying someones weird or disturbing and taking to fucking POLICE STATION for being A CRIMINAL??? So say you cant understand whats been writing here you better understand TO learn whats reality or NOT. Im not Einstein but I can see theres nothing tto be ashamed about we are just being mistreated, by YOU.
Better to stay inside or away from people, come out at night when the talkers are asleep but carry protection to arm against those who may harm.

Amazing find. Thankfully meds have improved over the years, tho still can not suppress all symptoms. I see this on a daily basis.
I wonder why they are blindfolded, or wear masks. Is it to disguise their identity?

Re: Symptoms in Schizophrenia (ca. 1940s)

For the blindfold thing, some schizophrenics can feel like they could really hurt someone just by looking at them. Or, considering the video is from 70 years ago, maybe the 'caretakers' thought they could be hurt by them if they were looked at. It wouldn't surprise me.

Man, The indie music video world would love this stock footage.

Cool post though, I have always found the concept of losing your grasp on reality to be a truly terrifying concept. Especially at a time when getting lobotomized was a normal procedure.

Re: Symptoms in Schizophrenia (ca. 1940s)

I worked in a drug rehabilitation center for a few years after retirement. The amount of these poor souls among us is truly a sad realization. Medication can help if they choose to take it but sadly many don't care for the way it makes them feel.
