I'm not sure I'd ever be able to look at a photo of my dead family member, especially an album or some kind of display in my home. Seems a luxury in that time only afforded by well-off families. Makes you wonder if medicine was available for what caused their deaths. |

the one above margaret alice west isn't dead, it's from a medical book it seems, the line underneath says that the child is anesthesized with chloroform

I wondered about that one. On second look, I see the caption. The one of the two sisters is especially sad, makes me wonder if they both succumbed to an illness that we vaccinate for nowadays. |
