Re: Wintage Horror!
last one: At the age of 18, Anna Vares volunteered for the War of Independence - this was far from the usual step for a woman. She served for half a year as a messenger in the communications command of the 1st Cavalry Regiment and took part in the battles on the Narva front, around Munamäe and Marienburg, and in Latvia. Anna fought under the name of Peeter Ronga, because she did not want to be treated as a woman. After the war, Anna married and became the surname Kukk (irony of fate: Vares - Ronk - Kukk). She had five children and was awarded a mother's medal by the Soviet authorities in 1946. But that did not save her from deportation to Siberia in 1949. When she returned to Estonia, she moved to Viljandi County, where she lived to a high age, dying in 1987 at the age of 86. |

Re: Wintage Horror!
Not exactly Russians, communists I would say. Every USSR country had their own people who did things like that. Maybe there was an order like “kill everyone who disagree or fighting against the Soviets” but most of the time locals are the ones who would carry out s sentence
