YEP! Three people actively sitting on it, with the last person executed in 1976, I believe. The Colorado govenor is pretty much pro-death penalty. I don't know about their sentencing guidelines, though. His attorney will most definitely pull for an insanity defense. The fucked up part is that he was a neuroscience major who had previously been accepted into the medical program at University of Colorado (correct me if I am wrong with the school, but I believe it is UC). Unfortunately, he will be able to assist in methods to get his ass out of a sling for this defense. Hope I don't get a dude like this sitting next to me when I start med school! I feel for all of these people.

Don't waste your time trying to understand them, you need to fight them instead. Well we don't have to in the UK. Perhaps because we have no guns here because they are banned. Sure we still have gun crime, but not people walking into schools, theatres and shit.

School shootings, shopping mall shootings and now this. Basically, the risk exists any place frequented by crowds of people. Regardless of city or country, this kind of dysfunctional people are everywhere. Nonetheless, a tragic event really

I've never seen any convincing study estabilishing for sure that firearms ban laws are linked to a certain percent drop in homicides involving firearms. I can tell you the example of Italy: the Italian Constitution does not recognize the right to keep and bear arms (which makes it complicated, almost impossible to get a gun license).
This way, criminal organizations sell all the weapons that they want, tax free, control free, etc. (and you can bet that those weapons won't be used for self-defence), it would take to me LESS than half an hour and 50 euros to get a 7,65. This brought the Country to this situation: all criminals are armed, and almost all the store owners, taxi drivers and other categories exposed to the risk to get robbed, are NOT. Basically, a criminal knows FOR SURE that he can rob any taxi driver/store owner etc. even using a small knife, a hammer, a stone, naked hands, etc. since he can't defend himself and his property because the laws make it extremely complicated. If the ban would be removed, or at least if it was easier to get a license, i don't know what would happen to crimes, but i'm sure that robbers would think twice before attacking somebody: as it is now, the law protects only criminals.
