And the shitloads of ammunition will be just as easy to find on the street as it was when he made a few clicks on his computer.

We make all guns illegal and all the criminals will line up to turn their guns in, right?
We ban assault rifles and no criminal will use a hunting rifle, shotgun or pistol instead, right?

As you said yourself he would have gotten a weapon one way or another, so would gun control solve anything? It's just less freedom for people that follow laws.
Now let's say he couldn't get a hold of a gun. He rigged his home with bombs. Ever think he could have wired up places to blow up people instead?

Millions of people own guns but do a majority of gun owners commit crimes with them? No.
We need to stop trying to put a blame on this or that. It's not the gun's fault. It's not his 3rd grade teacher's fault. It's not because of video games. There's bound to be some screwed up people that just want to inflict pain, suffering and death.

It's a tragedy things like this happen but get over it and hope it doesn't happen again. You can add as much security as you want. You can take away freedom but things will still happen. There's too many people and too much opportunity to have crowded areas completely secure. Take a fucking chance once in a while. What are you trying to say? I think you are suggesting I'm wrong but you agree with all my points?

First of all, we don't have a gun problem in the USA or the rest of the world. As others have pointed out, violence has been increasing all over. What we have is a problem with society and morality. People have less respect for life and are willing to kill to get something they think they are entitled to that they never worked a day in their life to afford. We also have less money to take care of people with mental disorders and those people are roaming out in society instead of being institutionalized.

You make a rant about "assault" rifles. Is it because they are black and mean looking? Do you realize the shotgun he had is one of the most common shotguns ever made and used for hunting? If I was going to go postal in a crowded place like a theater a "hunting" shotgun would be preferred over the assault rifle. So do you want to ban all hunting shotguns too? A person with only two western style 6 shooters and a speed loader can kill more than 12 people in a theater in less than a minute.

There is no way to stop a nut when they snap. The best way to stop them is by responsible law abiding citizens giving nut jobs an acute case of lead poisoning as soon as the nut starts shooting at innocent people. Period. By the time the cops arrive (5-10 minutes later) it's too late and the damage has been done.

In the hands of a psycho anything can be used as a WMD. He could just of easily walked in with a few canisters filled with gun powder and blew up the theater. Let's ban all chemicals! He could have walked in from the back door a couple buckets filled with gasoline and torched the theater. Let's ban gasoline! He could have walked down a row of seats and slit the throats of all the people seated in the rows ahead of him. Ban all knifes! He could drive a SUV through a preschool wall and cause mass carnage. Bans cars! Etc...

You failed to answer the most basic question I posed as to why a nut or criminal would obey a law to restrict the purchase of a gun if they plan to break other laws such as murder or armed robbery which are more serious crimes. Instead you resort to a personal attack as the feeble minded or intellectually dishonest liberals typically do as there is no way to support your position about banning guns. Drugs are illegal and you can even purchase drugs in jail! Give me a break!

The real tragedy in this shooting is that there wasn't a single person in there to shoot back at the bastard to stop him from killing as many people as he did. That you can thank to our government and people like bjansmith who are to dim witted to see the failed logic of gun control in the USA.

The USA is not some small European country with mostly well educated people. We have almost as many people in city of Los Angles as the entire county of Norway. There are a lot shit hole cities in the USA filled with sub human people that will never obey any law and will always have access to illegal guns. So unfortunately, gun control in the USA only restricts access to guns to law abiding citizen who are not the people we have to worry about.

I recommend that bjansmith and the rest of the gun control enthusiasts move to Mexico where there are strict gun control laws and has a gun murder rate 400% higher than the USA.
