I'm not certain either, but I believe amniotic fluid in the lungs can be dangerous. I was born two weeks early and still had amniotic fluid in my lungs, I had to be flown by helicopter to a bigger hospital with a better NICU because of it. I've also had nurses come in to check on all three of my babies in the hours after their birth to listen for "singing", which is a sound they make when they breathe if there is still fluid in their lungs.
