Suicide at Universal Studios Hollywood

Apparently this happened yesterday

A man fatally shot himself at the Universal Studios Hollywood theme park on Friday.

Police responded to a 911 call at about 2:24 p.m. regarding a potential suicide at the park's address, the L.A. County Sheriff's Department confirms to PEOPLE.

When officers arrived, they found a man who had died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, an LASD spokesperson tells CBS.

According to the spokesperson, "the incident happened in an area designated for smokers behind the Despicable Me ride and fun zone, which is the park's newest attraction."

The shooting was out of view for many, but children and other guests were reportedly nearby.

Universal Studios has closed several attractions near the Despicable Me ride, where the incident took place, according to Variety.

How the shooter was able to get his weapon past security remains unclear, but this is not the first time a gunman has opened fire in the park.

A man shot at a crowd on the Universal CityWalk in May 2014, USA Today reported at the time. Although he was eventually killed by police, four bystanders were treated for minor injuries.

Switzerland? Ranks 4th in the world in guns per capita (47 per 100) and has one of the lowest violent crime rate as well as probably the lowest gun related crime rates in the civilized world. So whats so different between Switzerland and the US? The answer would be a valid basis for your argument. Instead of trying to stuff flag waving right wing holy rollers under the wheels of the short bus for bleeding heart liberals for gun control. That knee jerk response is just a repugnant as the bullshit that spews from the fringe right.

The difference between Switzerland and USA is that no one in Switzerland has any ammo.
They have a milita army and most 20-30year olds are required to serve. Their issued rifles are stored at home so gun ownership is high, but they aren't allowed to keep ammo at home.

So *legally* they can't keep ammo at home. But what keeps so many of them from just acquiring and storing the ammo in contravention of the law? Similarly, why is there so much gun-related violence in countries like the U.S., despite all the laws prohibiting it?

Y'know, nevermind. It's probably just the guns themselves that are evil.

Not the first time a gun made it on the grounds? Time to hire some real security at the gates.
