It was a cop out, Wiggly. In some cases Unemployment is difficult to get, but NOT IN THIS ONE, and I am sure that UNDER THESE DIRE CIRCUMSTANCES, he could have contacted the HUMANE SOCIETY and SHAMED the company into handling this properly as well as keeping his job (ALTHOUGH I would not want to work for the likes of a company that woudl casually instruct an employee to murder "old and sick' animals...How the hell would the owner like it if he or his became "old and sick' and say the government instructed the Military to 'clean up"?????   Plain and simple. even though I am OUTSIDE of Canada, I am SURE I (and some of my friends) could be resourceful enough to have rescued these dogs. |

so very sad but in reality, literally THOUSANDS of cats and dogs are killed in shelters EVERY day in the USA. most are probably killed by humane injection but there are still facilities that use heart stick, gas chambers and even guns to shoot them. those all are the luckier ones.. the ones that are sent to research labs goes through literal hell with wounds, pain and stress. and after they are finished with their testing (which could last even years) the animals (if they lasted the entire testing time) are simply destroyed in whatever means the lab so chooses. karma is so right saying that we use animals when it suits us and then dispose of them without a care. look at canned hunting... when the wild "pet" animal grows up and becomes too large or starts to become unmanageable it often is sent to a canned hunt center. i've heard some zoos sell their excess to canned hunts also. the human race is also a species of animal. it is the most dangerous of all. it not only kills for entertainment or financial reasons, it also is knowingly destroying the land, air and water that sustains all life. pretty damned stupid for a species that considers itself to be superior. like the sled dogs, for years greyhound dogs were destroyed when their racing streak was over (or if they weren't good racers to begin with). luckily greyhound rescues have been organized and now save many of them. race horses are slaughtered when they don't perform as on the track as well as expected. it is so sad but you can't save them all. as long as people continue to breed dogs, horses, etc for financial reasons, they will also continue to kill them for financial reasons.  |
