Re: Rape Victims Should Have 'moral Responsibility'
Comparing rape to a robbery is more fair than comparing it with driving drunk IMO. If you and another person are drinking and they tell you a sob story and then you end up giving them $100 to help em pay their electric bill because you're drunk, your inhibitions are down, and you aren't thinking of the consequences of your actions as clearly because you're inibratied - that isn't robbery. Now, if you're passed out and the other person knows you've got a $100 in your purse and takes it - THAT is robbery. Sure you may wake up the next day and think, "Aww, wtf, i can't believe i let that guy talk me out of $100 last night...wtf was i thinking?!" You can't then accuse the man of robbing you because you regret giving them something while drunk. Regret ≠Rape I am HIGHLY appalled by women that call drunken and consensual sex "rape" after the fact if the guy is a dick to them or they get embarrassed about it or shamed by their friends/family. This is where i am adamantly against those "militant feminist" types who would like 'feeling raped' to be the same thing as actually being raped. There is a very broad gray area when it comes to inebriation and consent and each incident should be handled on a case by case basis. Men should not be 'guilty until proven innocent' in rape claims. If you're gonna blame women for putting themselves in a position to be raped by drinking, then it's no more fair than telling a man it's their fault for putting themselves in a situation to be accused of rape. |

Re: Rape Victims Should Have 'moral Responsibility'
I think Broadjumper was nice enough to change his previous user pic just for this thread. Hard to take the side of a militant feminist while displaying an objectifying, misogynistic image that reduces a woman to her sexual organs. |

Re: Rape Victims Should Have 'moral Responsibility'
I couldn't agree more. The son of a family friend was in a similar situation and no sex had even taken place. When he was 22, he met a girl at a party and they got on famously. He offered to give her a lift home and she accepted. They ended up parking in some dark area, getting into the back seat and partially undressed and before they could actually get busy, a cop rolled up and shined a light on 'em. A neighbor had seen them park and called assuming someone was trying steal or vandalize a car. Anyway, it turns out the girl was just 15, but told him she was 18. The cops call her folks and to save her own ass, she says she'd been seeing [and presumably fucking] him for months behind their backs and he was the reason she lied about where she was at night instead of being at her girlfriends, blah, blah, blah...this ends up nearly going to trial before the the DA dropped the case because of inconsistencies in her stories and failing to be able answer any questions about him like where he lived, schools, typical shit you know about someone when you're getting to know them and no corroborating witness to the relationship...If he had gone to court and convicted, he'd have had to serve up to 8 years and register as sex offender for the rest of his life... And regarding rape allegations, if the victim's name gets sealed, then the accused's should too. Once your reputation is damaged you may never get it back... |

Re: Rape Victims Should Have 'moral Responsibility'
Sure ya are, if there's a sure sign of a guy who's only pussy is in his palm, it's one who pretends that he NEVER objectifies women...But truth be told, women objective themselves skippy, one day you'll wake up and realize this and when you do, maybe your irrational guilt will finally disappear and you might finally get somewhere with 'em. That's called treating them as EQUALS. :xyxthumbs

Re: Rape Victims Should Have 'moral Responsibility'
The last paragraph of this report is interesting, namely she has called for the age of consent to be lowered to 13 and the end to so called witch hunts. Looking for a job running the head of entertainment at BBC is she? |

Re: Rape Victims Should Have 'moral Responsibility'
That's not even close to the same as a crack in a sidewalk. Piano wire has no business being there and would only be put their to maim or kill. A crack in a sidewalk is as common as... well, a fucking crack in a sidewalk. It happens from changes in the underlying soil or damage. |
