Re: Never Leave Your Child Unattended Near a Swimming Pool
There appears to be a little dog splashing near the shallow end almost as soon as the girl went in. Too bad no one noticed his little attempts at getting attention; glad the girl survived.

Re: Never Leave Your Child Unattended Near a Swimming Pool
This is the shocking moment a toddler is saved from drowning in a swimming pool by a passing security guard in Brazil. The three-year-old jumped into the main adult pool in a leisure area in a condominium and was underwater for nearly 20 seconds with only his flailing hands visible above the surface. Alex Sandro, a porter at the gated apartment block in Serra, in the south east state of Espirito Santos, was on his rounds on Saturday at 7.50pm when he caught sight of the distressed child. Security cameras showed the moment he flung open the door to the leisure area and ran to the poolside. Throwing himself to the ground he leant in and stretched deep into the water to grab hold of the child's arm. Hauling the little boy out of the deep end, Mr Sandro hugged the frightened child to himself and there was a palpable sense of relief. The patrolman said: 'It was a miracle that I was there at the time. I could have been somewhere else. 'I was doing my rounds when I approached the entrance to the large swimming pool and I suddenly saw the child under the water with his hands flapping about. 'I knew immediately that he was drowning but no one else in or near the pool had noticed his plight. 'I ran to the edge and took him out straight away. I was scared that he would be unconscious because I didn't know how long he had been under as I hadn't seen him enter. 'But when I pulled him out he was fully aware, very frightened and shaking all over. I held him close to me to comfort him and said a quiet prayer of thanks to God that I had saved his life.' |
