Re: Never Leave Your Child Unattended Near a Swimming Pool
What gets me is how fucking blind the people walking past the pool are. I mean, seriously, he stares at her floating for 10 second before it registers that it's a body? Seriously? It's clear fucking water, not a mud puddle. |

Re: Never Leave Your Child Unattended Near a Swimming Pool
I am dumbfounded by the lack of responsibility. Children need a lot of supervision to prevent them from coming to harm. Allowing a child to go unattended in a swimming pool is just asking for disaster. Kid got lucky. Hope the kid recovers without any permanent damage. |

Re: Never Leave Your Child Unattended Near a Swimming Pool
I almost drowned when I was about 5 or 6. I was walking around the edge of the pool and fell in the deep end. I was able to keep my head above the water for about half a minute before my mom noticed and jumped in after me. I think she noticed but thought that I had jumped in on purpose. I didn't make any distressed noises, so she didn't think that I was in danger at first. That's the thing about downing, not everyone is able to shout out for help. I don't really much about it because I was so young. The thing that I remember most was being extremely disappointed in myself that I was not able to swim back to the side and pull myself out of the pool. I was taking swimming lessons at the time, and I felt like a complete failure that I had to be rescued. All I actually remember about the drowning part was kicking and flailing, trying to work my way back over to the edge. |

Re: Never Leave Your Child Unattended Near a Swimming Pool
The cool thing about drowning is that most of the time it's very silent. Not at all like you'd expect based on shitty tv shows.
